Hi-Vis Flip

I bought this line because Flip used it. It’s a really nice line, easy to cast shoots into the wind nicely. What I find interesting is that Flip talked about his snell knot for line to leader connection and the line to leader should have the same diameter. Not one place on this package or on the website does it mention diameter of the line.
Anyways I use this line for bass, redfish, snook, anything you’re willing to fish for it will bring them in for sure.

Outstanding line. Worth every penny.

Casting is easy and color makes corrections to casting mistakes easy to see. First time out, 15 stfipers with 19 on a second outing. Diameter proportions are perfect. Coating is smooth. Heading out for tailing reds next!

Haven’t been able to give it a proper day on the water yet. But come spring, it’ll get some exercise. That said, when doing some practice casting with it during winter, this line performed well and can’t wait for warmer weather.

I bought this line for my 7wt because it has almost the exact same taper profile as the tropic redfish and I like orange. I gotta say I am pretty impressed with it as well. This line is a little bit heavier than the redfish line but not by much, probably weighted a half line or so heavier than most lines (like the redfish) but it allows for very fast loading and fewer false casts. I can pick up say 20 feet of this line and go straight into my backcast and then lay it back out and shoot an additional 20 feet with it. I originally had this on a glass rod and thought it was a bit heavy for a mid-flex, slower rod of glass but paired up on a fast graphite rod this line is a cannon. This line also holds very little memory in it like other brands of line. I am slowly changing all my setups over to Cortland line because every line I buy from them is awesome.

Love my new fly line from cortland. I haven’t made to the water with it, but practicing in the yard it’s awesome. Can’t wait to fish it. I will be purchasing the 444 or modern trout line next.

I have this line in 5wt. I bought it for small rivers fishing for Sand bass in North Texas. It cast very well. I was bombing cast for fun. When I did my part it was very accurate. It doesn’t seem great at short distance though. And the first few feet started sinking.

Overall, it is a great casting line.

5wt Helios D, 11’ leader with Clousers

Liked the Flip Hi Vis 6wt line very much. First non Orvis line that I have purchased in the past 10 years and have enjoyed casting it. I have not been disappointed.

Match it with a TFO Mangrove Coast 7wt. It will be my guide rod for Ozark smallmouth. Tried it out last weekend and it casted poppers and streamers great.

Love the 6wt line. Plenty aggressive without sacrificing a soft presentation.

Just about the best line made for my uses. Largemouth beware this line will stop you cold.

I bought the eight weight high visibility line for bone fishing. It is a little heavy to throw flies to in shallow water for bonefish. Other than that I think it’s fantastic very easy to cast but again it is a little heavy. If you do not make the perfect cast, which for myself doesn’t happen often I have scared a few bonefish away. But for other species it works awesome. Thank you and I will recommend the line. And as for myself using it in heavier weights for Tarpon jacks and any plegic species I will buy this line again.
